The Influence Of The Human Development Index And The Rate Of Open Unemployment On Poverty In The City Of Palopo

Poverty is a problem that exists in almost every province in Indonesia, including Palopo, South Sulawesi. Palopo has developed into an economic center, especially in the fields of education and health, so many foreigners want to live there in the hope of finding work. It is not surprising that the population of Palopo increases every year. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of the human development index and the open unemployment rate on poverty in Palopo City. The data used is secondary data. Data obtained from the Palopo City Central Statistics Agency for 2013-2023. Using the SPSS Version 20 application with multiple linear regression analysis methods. The test results show that the independent variable coefficient is 0.686 or 68.6%. This shows that the dependent variable is influenced by the independent, and 31.24% of the variables are influenced by other variables that are not related to the research. The Development Index and Open Unemployment Rate influence Poverty or between variables. Where the open unemployment rate decreased by 15.179% for every 1% increase in the poverty level.
