The Influence of Work Ethic, Rewards, and Punishment on Employee Performance at the Dukcapil Service in Luwu District

Retaining employees who have good performance is not an easy thing for an agency, because the agency first needs to know the needs and desires of its employees. Good employee performance cannot stand alone but needs to be driven by a good work ethic, rewards and punishment that are given clearly and fairly. The aim of this research is to determine and explain the influence of work ethic, reward and punishment on employee performance at the Dukcapil Service in Luwu Regency. This research uses quantitative methods. Data was obtained through distributing questionnaires to a population of 83 employees. The collected data was tested using multiple linear regression analysis with the SPSS statistics application program version 20. The research results showed that work ethic, reward and punishment had a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The F test shows that work ethic, reward and punishment together have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. This research also shows that the coefficient of determination is 0.624 or 62.4%, this shows that work ethic, reward and punishment are able to influence changes in employee performance, while the remaining 37.6% is influenced by other variables not examined in this research.
